Being sanctified or set apart means being made unique and dedicated to a special purpose. It’s like being chosen for something important, where your life is intentionally directed toward a higher calling. This process involves being taken out of ordinary routines or wrongdoings and being set aside for something divine and meaningful. It’s not about morality alone but about positioning oneself for growth, service, and purpose. Spiritual teachings describe sanctification as a process—a journey from being justified or made right through being cleansed and purified, and then eventually glorified or made perfect in the future. In the present, we are in what’s called the ‘messy middle,’ where we are growing and learning. Recognizing that we are set apart by a divine purpose encourages us to live intentionally, making choices that align with our higher calling. It reminds us that our lives are valuable and that we are designed to contribute something meaningful to the world. This awareness motivates us to pursue holiness, patience, and grace, understanding that our life’s purpose is connected to a larger divine plan.
