What role does sanctification play in my spiritual journey?

Sanctification is the ongoing process of becoming more like Jesus through the work of the Holy Spirit. It begins at the moment you accept Christ, where His blood sets you apart and makes you new (Hebrews 13:12). Sanctification involves both an immediate event—being made holy by Jesus—and a lifelong journey where the Spirit continually transforms your character and conducts. It’s a process rooted in the Word of God, which sustains and renews your mind as the Spirit exposes areas needing change (Ephesians 5:26). Living separately from worldly influences and unhealthy relationships is also part of sanctification, which involves setting boundaries that protect your spiritual growth (2 Corinthians 6:17). Your attitude of surrender and willingness to change makes this process effective. Ultimately, sanctification isn’t about trying harder but about yielding more to the Holy Spirit, allowing His power to shape your life into Christ’s image.
