What role does prayer play in my relationship with God and in making a difference in the world?

Prayer is the vital connection between humans and God—it is our lifeline, our way to communicate, seek guidance, and invite His presence into our lives. The Bible encourages us in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 to ‘pray without ceasing,’ meaning prayer should be a constant attitude, not just an occasional act. A prayerful life builds faith, aligns us with God’s will, and prepares us to be effective witnesses in the world. When believers pray, they tap into divine power that can bring healing, deliverance, and breakthroughs—not only in personal lives but also in communities and nations. Prayer also prepares us to be better soul winners—people who actively seek opportunities to share Christ and see lives transformed. A church of prayer is a church of power, authority, and effectual impact, where God’s Spirit moves freely to accomplish His divine purposes in us and through us.
